Mikata is a new yet ambitious name in the field of architecture, particularly with its focus on Brutalism – an architectural style characterized by the use of raw concrete, exposed structures, and solid forms. They sought a brand identity that could convey their solidity, authenticity, and unique vision.
From Concrete Blocks to Brand Icon
Logo: A unique typographic symbol, formed from square, angular blocks, and a powerful arrangement, evoking the image of towering concrete structures. The typeface was customized to create an effect of depth and stability, while maintaining Japanese-style sophistication and minimalism.
Color Palette: Dominated by monochromatic tones such as black, white, and grey, mimicking the natural colors of concrete and the contrast between light and shadow in Brutalist architecture. This enhances the sense of solidity and elegance.
Identity System: The entire system, from stationery, packaging, to website design and communication materials, is consistent with a spirit of strength, minimalism, and efficiency. We utilized subtle dot grid patterns, straight lines, and sharp angles to create coherence, while also conveying a sense of precision and technicality.
